I started in the kitchen almost 30 years ago, cooking with the finest cook in Philadelphia, My grandma. At 8 years old she said to me: "Boy get in this kitchen, ya cocky and arrogant ass will be grown and single, you need to learn to cook for yourself." That day, she created a monster who'd grow a passion for non-stop discovery and experimentation of food. My greater passion is feeding others. Part of my joy in cooking is giving others who may be less fortunate the opportunity to experience quality eating. I do pop ups and feed the homeless in different cities across the country. Over the last decade I've studied and have grown a passion for cigars. My preference are cigars that are smooth and silky. I can occasionally go for the cigars that will punch you in the face but I'm a laid back guy, Smooth is me. Check out my favorite cigars in 'The Man Cave' section of the site.
Without name-dropping here, I'll just say I learned how to talk my way into rooms others beg to be in or wish to be in. I had a saying of "Go outside" I used to tell artists and they'd literally stand on the curb with their friends. "Go Outside" always meant; Go/Be outside of yourself. Leave your comfort zone. Explore the unknown and discover places you had never thought you would be. That should also apply to life. As a young black man raised in a 99% Christian family, I chose Islam, I chose to leave Philadelphia and go to Miami on my own and I chose to exlore. The Journey in life is never easy but if you don't try, did you live? Music is Life.
